What is in the program you ask?

First we start with what you can do without a professional, and it’s quite a lot. Next we discuss a home energy audit. What kind you should get and trust us, you need one to really be energy efficient. We’ll talk about what recommendations the audit report may offer and how to accomplish them. You will hear us talk about the “low hanging fruit”. We will move on to new construction, whether it is from the ground-up or on an existing home incorporating energy upgrades. Then the health issues in a well-insulated, air-sealed home will be detailed such as radon, paints, mold and ventilation. Subsequently, renewable energy will be discussed with the realities of solar electric, thermal and wind power and using these to be your own home energy producer. To finish up, we will lay out many of the rebates and tax credits available for your energy upgrades. And they are substantial. A question and answer session will follow the workshop.

Our workshop is entertaining, humorous and extremely informative. You will walk out of the workshop with a smile and the “Road Map to Home Energy Efficiency” in your hand along with a comprehensive Resource List, which has all the local service and product providers to help you complete your journey to a more comfortable and “green” home. About the Speaker

Kimball Bailey is the teacher of the workshop. Kimball is a homebuilder, amongst other talents, who has created and constructed over 40 energy efficient homes along with numerous remodels and retrofits in the last 20 years. He is also the Front Range sales and designer representative for a solar electric and thermal company. His extensive knowledge and experience of new and existing home construction, along with their energy use, has led him to creating this new avenue for homeowners to learn and enact home energy efficiency upgrades, bypassing the confusion of the mass media, Internet, TV and overblown product sales pitches. He realizes most homeowners are overwhelmed with conflicting information on home energy use. He provides the tools and resources in his workshops for a homeowner to make either a simply more comfortable and efficient home all the way to a net zero energy residence. Always learning, evaluating and exercising his knowledge, Kimball is very excited about sharing his simple yet powerful message to homeowners that desire a cleaner, healthier, less expensive, and more sustainable home living environment.
